Opportunity to Mentor Young Women on STEM Career Paths
Are you a woman working in STEM? You can make a difference in the lives of young women looking to enter STEM fields by serving as a mentor, panelist, or advisor!
Opportunities to Make an Impact
The Pittsburgh Technology Council is searching for female mentors who work in (or alongside) STEM to join their upcoming L.A.U.N.C.H. cohort, a leadership in STEM program for high school girls. As a volunteer, you can serve in any (or a combination) of the following positions:
- Panelist
In-Person | March 25, 2023, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. | Point Park UniversityParticipate as a Panelist at the Women in STEM Panel Discussion held during the opening retreat at Point Park University. - Mentor
In-Person | April 15, 2023 | 3 sessions, 25 minutes each | Pittsburgh Technology CollegeParticipate as a Mentor by completing three one-on-one mentor sessions (25 minutes each) at Pittsburgh Technical College. This will include lunch with the young women from the L.A.U.N.C.H. cohort. - Advisor
Virtual | May 8 – 12, 2023 | 1 session, 45 minutesParticipate as an Advisor on a final project of your choice. The cohort team you’ll work with will reach out to schedule time with you if you are selected as an advisor.
Or, you can join the in-person Final Celebration as a guest on May 17, 2023 at Alloy 26.
How to Sign Up
To sign up as a volunteer, complete the online new mentor form. Then, complete this form to select your preferences in the program.
