Getting Older Adults Digitally Connected (Vintage Senior Center)

We’re working with Vintage Senior Center to get older adults in Pittsburgh digitally connected!

Our Work with Vintage Senior Center

In October, Computer Reach began distributing desktop computer bundles and internet hotspots to individuals in need of technology identified by Vintage Senior Center. Located on N. Highland Avenue in Pittsburgh, the Center seeks to “improve and influence the experience of aging in their community” by supporting older adults in their work to:

  • stay active and healthy,
  • maintain independence,
  • pursue interests,
  • and make new friends.

These goals align perfectly with the possibilities that technology brings to unconnected older adults, making the Center a natural project partner in our Digital Navigator Program.

Current Progress

Over the last month, we provided 5 individuals with free desktop computer bundles, internet hotspots, in-home computer and setup support, and 1 hour of digital literacy training on fundamental computer skills like internet safety, emailing, social media, and more. Now, we are working to get 15 others digitally connected. We look forward to continuing our work with Vintage to get technology into the hands of older adults in our local communities.
