Visit to Rightway International School – Ghana
Our team left for Ghana one week ago today, and in the time since they arrived the have met with several local organizations and leaders. Our host in Ghana who has graciously organized many of these meetings is Daniel Kwaku Ganyoame with Africa ICT Right. Nancy Latimer, wrote a great post about Daniel and his own projects in Ghana on her blog.
Daniel Kwaku Ganyoame with Africa ICT Right has been our gracious host. He is the Executive Director of the NGO with the mission of providing technology and training to communities especially schools and school children.
Daniel is definitely a mover and a shaker. He was the one who contacted Dave Sevick and Computer Reach after a Google search of computers and Ghana. He has worked tirelessly preparing for our visit and has led us every step of the way while here.
In addition to his NGO he runs a school which we visited today in Sun City near Tema and Community 23. Yes, this 31 year old single man started a school in his community. He noticed that children couldn’t afford the ‘public’ school and he began a school in his house. He has since expanded with four open air classrooms and has plans to build a dedicated building. Please bookmark Nancy’s blog in addition to ours to stay up to date on the trip. Her photos will also be shared on our Facebook page.
