Volunteers Needed: Saturday, August 18

We need to boot check and pack 100 computers this Saturday, August 18, 2012 as the final inspection before sending them overseas to Ghana.

With many hands, we can complete this important quality assurance step within 2-3 hours. We are starting at 10AM sharp at our warehouse in Point Breeze and should be done by noon or 1PM, maybe earlier depending on how many volunteers we have.

The computers have already been imaged with Edubuntu 10.04.3 and tested back on June 30th, this is just one last boot-check before shipping overseas via an ocean container.

We have a skilled shipping company, providing humanitarian pricing and a great family from Fox Chapel sponsoring this project. Other projects will follow and the stories will be told with photos and videos but for now this is a moment for many many thanks to all involved. And a plea for help at the warehouse this Saturday.

Since this is very short notice, please email Dave Sevick at sevick@computereach.com to let him know you’ll be there to help us boot up and pack pack 100 Linux computers. Once he gets your email, Dave will contact you personally and provide more details.

Thank you!
