Work/Health/School
LAPTOP LENDING PROGRAM

The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority, working with the Capital Projects Fund, is participating in a $20 million federal funding effort to procure laptops and distribute them through the Digital Connectivity Technology Program for public-facing institutions such as libraries, community schools, municipalities, workforce training organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and other community anchor institutions. Computer Reach was chosen as a grant awardee. See the grant approvals list.
- Laptops are owned and managed by Computer Reach across multiple Pennsylvania counties.
- Laptops are configured with Kubuntu Linux ( not macOS or Windows ) and the Universal Desktop.
- Laptops are specifically to be used for Work/Health/School with skills assessments and training via two trusted platforms – SKILLUP PA and NORTHSTAR. We have added support for tele-health access across Western PA.
- Laptop lending approval requires an interview and registration and is available locally for Western PA residents who are able to attend registration in person or remotely with a partner organization.
- Please click here to begin the registration process if you are interested. You will be linked to a quick Google Form and will get a call back from our team ASAP.
